If I employ a qualified practitioner to treat patients in my clinic, will they be insured under my clinic policy or will they need their own insurance? |
| |
Every practitioner working in a professional capacity must hold their own professional insurance for Medical Malpractice and Public/Product Liability and as the clinic proprietor, you need to ensure that you hold confirmation that each practitioner’s insurance is in force while they are working from your premises. |

2 |
If all practitioners working in my clinic have their own insurance, why do I need ‘contingent malpractice’ cover? |
| |
The cover is provided under the clinic policy only on a contingent basis. If a patient claims damages from the clinic rather than or in addition to the practitioner that carried out their treatment, this will need to be defended by you. |

What if a claim is made against the clinic and the practitioner concerned has moved away? |
| |
If a practitioner has moved and cannot be traced, as long as you can provide a copy of the practitioner’s insurance, the policy will respond. |

What happens if a patient is injured as a result of an action by an employee, who is not a practitioner? |
| |
Legal Liability attaching to all employees who are not practitioners, will be covered under this policy. |
| |

I have been asked to have someone in my practice on a work experience placement, does my insurance cover this? |
| |
Yes, your Clinic policy provides Employers’ Liability Insurance and those under work experience placements will be covered under this just like any other employee. |

If a patient asks whether a child can be looked after while he/she is having treatment, what is my insurance position? |
| |
Should the child damage your property the article will be replaced in the same way as any other item damaged in the course of your business, however should anything happen to the child, no cover would be provided. We strongly advise our clients not to accept responsibility for patients\' children. |

We accept cheques and most major credit cards (unfortunately not American Express). In most instances we can also offer direct debit payment facilities over ten months. |
